Effective on Multicolored Tattoos
BEFORE & AFTER
When tattoo pigment in the dermis is targeted by light from Q-Switch or Pico lasers, the ink breaks into smaller particles. These particles can be broken down and filtered out by white blood cells, then eliminated from the body through the lymph nodes. The rate of particle elimination varies for each client and depends on factors such as the tattoo’s location and the efficiency of the body’s lymphatic system.
The number of treatments required for tattoo removal varies based on factors such as size, complexity, depth of the ink, and others. Typically, 2-4 treatments are recommended for fading for a cover-up, while 6-12 treatments may be needed for complete removal. Treatments are spaced approximately 6 to 8 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and facilitate the elimination of ink through the body’s lymphatic system.
Surprisingly, the discomfort of laser tattoo removal is often likened to the sensation of repeatedly flicking a hot rubber band on the skin. While not entirely pleasant, the process is swift, sometimes lasting mere seconds. Additionally, we utilize a high-powered cooling machine to enhance your comfort during treatment. For those concerned about pain, numbing cream available at local pharmacies can be applied beforehand, significantly improving comfort during the procedure.
Scarring from tattoo removal is highly uncommon due to our advanced laser system, which minimizes skin interaction during the process. However, existing scars from the tattooing process may remain after ink removal. Fortunately, we offer safe and effective treatments for any present scarring, which can be discussed during your consultation or subsequent treatments.
After the procedure, the area treated may be red or swollen (similar to a mild sunburn) and there may be some bruising, blistering or scabbing for around 3-5 days. An antibacterial ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area post-treatment to assist with healing.
