BEFORE & AFTER
Thread-lift treatments offer immediate, natural-looking skin improvement without surgical scars.Thread lift preserves facial features, repositioning soft tissues to their original place. Over 10-14 days, natural protein synthesis begins, with results improving over weeks, peaking at six months, and lasting up to two years. The biodegradable thread leaves behind a scaffold for collagen and elastin production, maintaining smooth skin texture. Expect a rejuvenated appearance reminiscent of years past after the procedure.
The ideal thread lift candidate is usually in their late thirties to late fifties with mild to moderate signs of skin laxities. Whereas most patients with excessive laxities will benefit more profoundly from facelift surgery, thread lifts can provide a facelift alternative for patients who do not want surgery or cannot have surgery for medical reasons.
Recovery from a thread lift is remarkably straightforward, given that the procedure is conducted under local anesthesia, allowing patients to drive home and resume self-care immediately afterward. This feature makes it particularly suitable for individuals with familial responsibilities or demanding careers. Post-treatment, patients may experience slight swelling and minor bruising, along with mild discomfort during facial movements as the threads adjust. Any asymmetry typically resolves within two weeks. While most patients can resume normal activities within a week, some may return to work and daily routines within just 1-2 days post-treatment.
Prior to your treatment, it’s essential to inform your cosmetic doctor about any previous procedures and current medications you’re taking. Avoid taking anticoagulants like Aspirin or Warfarin, anti-inflammatories such as Nurofen or Voltaren, and alcohol within 48 hours before treatment. While you can continue with prescribed medications, it’s advisable to refrain from taking certain supplements like evening primrose oil, vitamins D, A, and E, fish oils, flaxseed oil, magnesium, garlic, and Ginkgo before your appointment. Additionally, on the day of your treatment, refrain from wearing makeup or using harsh beauty products on your face.
Following the procedure, expect potential swelling and bruising for up to two weeks, depending on the treated areas’ extent. After two days, patients can typically apply camouflage makeup to conceal any pale bruising. While bruising and swelling are usually mild and resolve within 10 days, Hirudoid cream or Arnica tablets can aid in alleviating these symptoms. Occasionally, slight depressions or skin irregularities may occur, but these discomforts typically diminish within a few days post-procedure. To ensure optimal recovery, adhere to prescribed antibiotic courses for infection prevention, apply ice packs immediately after the procedure, and take analgesics as needed for pain management for 2-3 days. Additionally, refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours, sleep with the face elevated on pillows for 3-5 nights, and wash the face gently without rubbing or massaging for 5-7 days. Avoid excessive facial and neck movements for approximately 2 weeks, facial massages for a month, and over-exposure to direct sunlight and tanning beds for 2 weeks. Refrain from sports, exercise, saunas, dental treatments, and neck massages for approximately 2-3 weeks to ensure a smooth recovery process.
